"We have established a solid foundation with a clear structure within ProMeister. This has given us the right conditions to take the next step and deliver even more value and support to MEKO’s concept-affiliated workshops."

How long have you been at MEKO, and what roles and projects have you taken on during your time here?

I joined MEKO in 2024, so I am still relatively new to the company. Today, I serve as Chief Operating Officer for ProMeister Services and Competence. ProMeister is a subsidiary of MEKO, operating in Sweden, Norway, and Finland. As a strategic part of the Group, our role is to develop and support our workshops by providing training and technical support. In addition, ProMeister has another important segment: developing and offering a competitive premium range of products and tools for workshops across the Nordic region.

What does ProMeister offer?

ProMeister provides the most comprehensive and most up-to-date training programs in the automotive industry, tailored to technological developments and future service needs. My role is wide-ranging and requires close collaboration across multiple business areas – exactly the type of challenge I enjoy most. We offer several forms of training and services that together cover the entire chain of skills development and support:

  • Academyadvanced training for staff at our affiliated workshops, whether it is service managers, advisors, or mechanics.
  • Higher vocational education – a free education open to individuals seeking retraining or a career change into the automotive industry.
  • Upper secondary schoolwhere students complete their practical training with us.
  • Technical Support – assisting workshops with technical issues that may arise in daily operations.

How did your education and career path lead you to MEKO?

My journey began in sales and gradually evolved into leadership with a focus on business development. Before joining MEKO, I worked as a site manager and brand director for a Swedish dealership representing brands such as BMW and BYD. When I had the opportunity to join MEKO and ProMeister, I saw a chance to help develop the brand and its role. I recognized both the challenges and the potential in building and growing ProMeister. That is what continues to inspire me. I’m not someone who simply maintains the status quo – I thrive when I can take a business from point A to point B and see clear results from our efforts.

What milestones or achievements are you most proud of?

One of our biggest successes so far has been creating a solid foundation and clear structure within ProMeister. This has given us the right conditions to take the next step and deliver even greater value and support to MEKO’s workshops.

What challenges have you faced, and how have you grown through them?

Every time I step outside my comfort zone, I grow as both a leader and a person. I am goal-driven and don’t give up until results are achieved. It’s similar to sports: you test your limits, learn new things, and grow with the task. That determination has been crucial, especially when the challenges have seemed daunting.

Have any mentors or colleagues influenced you? How?

I have never had a mentor, but every manager and colleague I have worked closely with has influenced me. I try to take the best from everyone I meet – their strengths, methods, and experiences – and shape my own leadership style from that.

Why should others apply for open positions here?

MEKO is a group in constant change. Something new happens here every day, and you have the opportunity to truly influence the company’s development. We are in an exciting phase, actively working to provide technical expertise and knowledge to meet today’s needs, but also to prepare for the future of mobility. The demand for technical expertise is huge. If you enjoy responsibility, a fast pace, and the opportunity to grow with the business, this is the right place for you.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to build a career in this industry, field, or company?

It is all about mindset. If you have the will, you can learn almost anything. Skills and knowledge are important, but it is drive and determination that take you all the way. In my experience, if you fully commit , take responsibility, and show ambition, opportunities for growth will come – no matter what role you start in.

New service removes the hassle for car owners and workshops

09 July 2025

MEKO's booking platform eliminates the hassle for both car owners and workshops. The goal is to make it easy to book the right service with just a few clicks, no matter how little you know about your car. The advantage for workshops is that the new platform saves them several hours of administrative work.

"The most awkward road trip of my life gave me new insights"

Pehr Oscarson, President and CEO of MEKO, shares his experience. I was young, with a thin wallet, and needed to cross the US. Luckily, there was a free car-sharing service – though it did lead to arguments in the middle of the prairie. Today, however, there are many more refined transportations offers available. But are we satisfied with them? What do we think about the developments around electric cars and smart technology?
